ALN Made Simple is operated by Steven Campbell, trading as The ALN Advisor, a sole trader based in Wales, United Kingdom. The Platform provides online tools and resources designed to support educational professionals—particularly those working with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in Welsh schools.

ALN Made Simple helps educational professionals create, interpret, and present information related to ALN identification, person-centred reviews, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs). It is designed for professional use within educational settings and is not intended for direct use by pupils or parents.

3. Acceptance of Terms

By using ALN Made Simple, you confirm that you:

• Are an educational professional or have appropriate authorisation to use the tools.
• Agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable UK laws.
• Are responsible for ensuring that anyone accessing the Platform through your account complies with these Terms.

4. Account Registration

Some areas of ALN Made Simple require you to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, up-to-date information.
• Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We may suspend or close accounts if misuse or unauthorised activity is detected.

5. Free and Paid Access

ALN Made Simple includes both free tools and premium (paid) features. Full details of pricing, payment terms, and entitlements will be displayed on relevant pages.

• Subscription fees (where applicable) are payable in advance.
• Prices are shown in GBP (£) and may change over time.
• Refunds are not normally issued once access is granted unless required by UK consumer law.

6. Intellectual Property

All text, graphics, designs, templates, logos, and software on ALN Made Simple are owned by Steven Campbell (The ALN Advisor) unless otherwise stated.

You may:

• Use materials for professional, non-commercial purposes within your school or organisation.

You may not:

• Reproduce, distribute, resell, or share content from this site without prior written permission.

7. Data Use and Privacy

ALN Made Simple complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

• Most tools are designed to process data locally in your browser, meaning that information entered is not stored or transmitted to our servers.
• Some tools, such as those using artificial intelligence features (for example, written summaries or strategy generation), may temporarily transmit anonymised input data to a secure third-party provider (such as OpenAI) for processing and returning responses.
• These integrations are conducted securely. No personal or identifiable learner information should ever be entered into these tools.
• Users must not enter or upload any personally identifiable information (PII) such as learner names, dates of birth, addresses, or any other identifiers.
• All information must be fully anonymised before being used within the Platform.
• Users are solely responsible for ensuring that data they input complies with data-protection and confidentiality obligations applicable to their role or organisation.

8. Accuracy and Limitation of Liability

We make every effort to ensure that information and tools on ALN Made Simple are accurate and current. However:

• All tools, strategies, and outputs are for professional guidance only.

• We are not liable for any loss, damage, or consequence resulting from use of the site or reliance on its content.
• Use of the Platform is entirely at your own discretion and risk.

9. User Responsibilities

You agree not to use ALN Made Simple to:

• Upload or process personal or confidential data that could identify a learner or colleague (for example: full names, dates of birth, addresses, or other identifiers).
• Enter identifiable learner data into AI-powered tools or other features.
• Upload, share, or transmit unlawful, harmful, or offensive material.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, damage, or disrupt the Platform.
• Share login credentials or materials in breach of copyright.

All data entered into the Platform must remain anonymised and used for illustrative, professional-development, or planning purposes only. Misuse—including entering identifiable information—may result in immediate suspension or termination of access.

10. Third-Party Links

ALN Made Simple may link to third-party websites or resources (e.g., government guidance). We have no control over their content and accept no responsibility for external sites or their privacy practices.

11. Disclaimer

ALN Made Simple is an advisory and support tool for educational professionals. It does not provide medical, diagnostic, or therapeutic advice. Users must exercise professional judgement and follow local and national statutory guidance when making ALN decisions.
